General information, not medical advice. Every pregnancy is different — bring questions to your OB or midwife.

Your baby at 36 weeks

The fetus is gaining roughly an ounce a day, shedding most of its lanugo and vernix, and is often settling low and head-down (engaging). The digestive system is filled with meconium.

How you might feel

Prenatal visits usually become weekly, and Group B strep testing is coming up.

This week's tip: Finalize your birth preferences and discuss them with your provider and support person.
